The Qatari government have issue a strong warning to both players and fans coming to the 2022 WC in the country as they revealed a 7-years jail term will be dished out to unmarried people caught having sex.
The country is predominantly an Islamic state and certain privileges are revoked, such as partying, drinking and social events.
A statement reads :
“Sex is very much off the menu, unless you are coming as a husband and wife team. There definitely will be no one-night stands at this tournament.
“There will be no partying at all really. Everyone needs to keep their heads about them, unless they want to risk being stuck in prison.
“There is essentially a sex ban in place at this year’s World Cup for the first time ever. Fans need to be prepared,”
Other offenses include, public display of affection between a man and a woman, caught in public wearing revealing cloths amongst others.
